I can confirm though that discord seems to be the current meta for these sorts of communities. Well I can recommend Seeker of Fire mod or Tales of Drangleic they change quite a lot about the experience of the game and will feel like a different game. I've personally not played any of the overhaul mods that do exist for DS2, but the main points from what I've heard are: Larger equipment variety in the early/midgame such as full sets of certain farm-only or NG+ only armor being more easily available or certain rings like Flynn's Ring being available far earlier than Shulva. I don't really have any connections to less niche modding communities.
